Guide

Why remove image metadata?

Photos can include camera model, lens settings, editing software, timestamps and sometimes GPS coordinates. MetaBloom shows what is present and removes common metadata blocks without uploading the image.

JPEG files are cleaned without recompressing the photo whenever possible. PNG and WebP metadata chunks are rebuilt in the browser. For unusual formats, convert the image in ImageBloom first.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is my photo uploaded?

No. The file is read by your browser and processed locally. MetaBloom has no upload step and no backend.

Does it remove GPS location?

Yes for supported JPEG, PNG and WebP metadata blocks. The report highlights GPS fields when they are detected.

Will image quality change?

JPEG cleaning keeps the original compressed image data when possible. PNG and WebP chunks are copied without decoding pixels.
